Settlers arrived in New Mexico under the expedition of Onate in the early 17th century. These early Spanish settlers developed a unique style of embroidery we identify as colcha. Annette embroiders traditional and original designs on sabanilla, (the traditional wool background fabric) linen and merino wool.
